Space savers and spare wheels

Hi all,

After recently shopping around for some new cup wheels for my '86 Lux I was told by a couple of different suppliers (I won't mention any names but they were the 'usual places' we all know) that 'all 944s came supplied with space savers sir'.

Is this true? 'Cos mine hasn't got one...

I suppose a previous owner could have lost it and replaced it with the 15" steel wheel currently in there. The spare wheel well (for want of a better description) does seem rather large - a space saver wouldn't half be lonely in there... It's much bigger than that in a 924S I owned previously IIRC.

Is there something weird about my car or is it just that a previous owner lost the space saver?

Utter b*ll***s - my '86 Lux also has the 15" steel spare. Plus the rear carpet is different - much smaller hump in cars with space saver.
