Spacers

I've been looking around the net and on here for pics of a 996 with spacers on, does anyone have any?

I'm looking at 15mm and 9mm from porscheshop.co.uk, I'm hoping the car will be ok 30mm lower with these on, but think it may be a bit hit and miss.....

Cheers,

I don't run with any but I know alot of the guys on rennlist do, might be worth asking on there.

Regards.

p.s nice write ups again Steve.

Thanks.

I tried fitting the 9mm ones from Porscheshop on my 996T, but caused awful steering wheel vibration. Now have 7mm all round from design911.

oh, that doesn't sound too good.

Anyone else had that when increasing the track? I was all set to order some bits tomorrow...

When i went to centre gravity, chris mentioned that theres a number on the wheel which coresponds to the maximum spacer. On my 17's i think its 7 at the front and 15 at the back. I dont know what would happen if you went different to that tho, oh i dont forget you need longer wheel nuts too[;)].

Ok, check out the turning circle ratios as well. Sometimes we just need to get better ourselves than change the machinery.

5mm front & 17mm rear is what Porsche say for a pre 2001.

I knew there was a 5 and a 7 in there sumwhere. I dont understand why there aren't spacers as standard when the car comes from the factory.

I called Porsche today, 5mm all round is recomended for a C2 with 18" alloys.

£250 for all four 5mm spacers with extended bolts.

I don't think 5mm will make a noticeable difference? How does playing it safe and going for 9mm all round sound from porsche shop?
