Spain Sojourn

Just returned from an 1800 mile, 4 weeks in Spain. Ferry to Bilbao, drove to Denia for a week then down to La Cala/Fuengirola for 3 weeks and back via Madrid and Santander. As before the Spanish seem to be building new roads everywhere - mostly motorway and/or Toll. Car satnav with 2010 maps just about OK but even my Garmin with the latest 2012 maps was stumped on a couple of occasions. Outside the major towns the roads are just empty and a joy to drive. Saw only one other Porsche in 4 weeks and that a Cayman near Santander - where are they all? Petrol (98 Octane) between £1.29 to £1.36/litre - VAT at 21% does not help. Achieved 29.7 mpg overall.

Only 2 problems - the ABS/PSM lights came on after some slow speed driving up/down a very hilly urbanisation which cleared after an hour while we had a coffee in a local bar and the car cooled down. The second problem was a nearly flat battery after 6 days not being used despite having a solar trickle charger plugged in - plenty of sunlight. Probably battery on its way out as it is at least 3-4 years old.

Ferry back to Plymouth was a very rough crossing and I had some concerns we would find heaps of scrap metal on the car deck next day, but all appeared ok although I think our car had slid back about 2 feet from where we had parked it - fortunately we were last in a parking line with oodles of space behind us. Could not see any evidence of Brittany chaining the vehicles down - perhaps they don't.
