Spark Plug Replacement

Does anyone know how to replace spark plugs on a 996 please and how easy is it?
The engine sounds like it's misfiring and the Emission Control Warning Light has now come on.
I was informed at last week's free clinic at JCT 600 in Sheffield that there was a slight leak on the spark plug covers and could cause eventual misfiring.

Hi I don't know about slight leak on spark covers! but there are often cracks in the coil packs 1 on top of each plug, you can see the cracks and the coils swell up! Replace the cracked coils or all of them, easy to do from under the car, take the coils out and then you can get to the plugs. Berny.

Here you go. Check the insulation on the coil packs too, as that is a more common cause of misfires than the plugs themselves.

Thanks for that Richard. As always, you're a life saver. I don't suppose these are available in the high street - Halfords perhaps. Or can you only purchase them from a specialist. otherwise I'm grounded again this weekend.

Well, I cheated and took it into my local Indie. They diagnosed a burnt out coil which they promptly replaced (10mins). I was also informed that the others had cracks on them so will need replacing at some point. Don't know whether to wait until next service in June(ish) or do it myself at a huge saving (in money not in time) Thanks all.
