Spark Plug Socket - thin wall or normal.

Hi, I have searched many times and yes there are very good guides on changing spark plugs.

However, I would like to know: Do I need a thin wall socket? Also, is it a 16mm? ( I know I can check size when new ones arrive but be good to have the socket arriving at same time if I have to buy one.)

Reason why I am asking.... I do not want to have my car stripped down and find out that I need a thin wall socket. It has happened to me before arrgh!

Thanks.

I Hope they don't mind the blatant steal, but the pic below is from the Spark Plug change tech page on Pelican Parts, and appears to show a pretty slim Spark Plug socket (and the World's Cleanest Cylinder Head) It's a 14mm or 5/8 socket.

Cheers STiG911, I will just go for a slim wall anyway.
I did see that post but never went through it as it was for Gen1. Its a tight fit there alright.
Thanks!

My new plugs arrived today. They are 16mm - 5/8. Time for a new socket. Really want to get these bad boys into my car.

OK, just ordered this 10inch 16mm spark plug socket. It doesn't have a hex head but I assume the Porsche garage torqued them correctly the last time so should have no problems taking them out. I would also imagine I will not need an extension thus ensuring that my torque setting is also more accurate.

Next thing I am wondering about is Dielectric grease.
