Speaker question again

C4S al

Hi,

Having read threads on here and other sites about the poor quality of the 996 speakers over the last 2 years, I initially dismissed it until today[]

The bass units in the doors are barely noticable however I appreciate they are for subtle low frequency.

I did note that the front dash speakers are louder than the rears when comparing full fader balance to front and rear.

The other thing which has got me worrying is today for the first time I noticed on turning off the CDR23 Cd player, so no engine on, head unit switched off, there was still a buzz from the rear speakers. This stopped after about 2 mins.

Is this the amp discharging??? Nothing from the front speakers.

I do not have the Bose upgrade but as it is a C4S has the sound upgrade.

As the dash speakers and the front spekers are the same do not understand the sound loudness difference and the switch of static/buzz for a couple of mins is worrying me.

Is tis normal?

Regards Alan.

Hi Alan. I can't answer your buzzing question, I'm afraid but suffice to say that I can only imagine how average the "normal" system is as I do have Bose and it's a bag of sh**e!

I simply can't believe that a car of this price and (supposed) quality hasn't got an amazing standard stereo - let alone having a crap one that costs loads extra!? I'm not sure if they've improved things with the 997 - but they should have!
