Speaker swap 996C4S

A simple way to improve the sound I have been told is to just swap speakers in a car. Are the 996 ones Nokia? Is it just possible to switch out these for other speakers without changing all the cables?

Yes it is but I swapped all mine for the bose ones

Where did you source the speakers from? Is it an ebay search?

I swapped mine for Bose too. Yes it was an e bay search. Easy job to do. But definitely an improvement.
Another option is a car breakers. But I found speakers on e bay.

When I had my 996T I replaced them all with Pioneer speakers. The door speakers were an easy swap, and for the dash and rears I bought the dummy Porsche speaker grilles and screwed them to the back. You can get the connector plugs from VW. I'll dig out some photos.

Also check out JMG Porsche. They do adaptors for Alpine speakers to fit the dash and rears.

I cut holes in the back, and screwed them on from the underside. This also shows the VW connectors:

VW Speaker Connectors: 1HO-906-712
Wire: 000-979-129 (this is the yellow wire, and comes with a terminal on each end).
