I know this topic has been discussed at length in the past but I can't see an answer to this.
In my 86' lux, the rear 4x6" speakers are mounted on a solid plate. I understand that in later cars this was a removable adaptor plate which allows the fitting of larger speakers. Is it therefore safe for an installer to cut this panel and enlarge the hole for larger speakers? i.e. not a vital structural panel, or should this be left alone?
I am due to go to Unicar Performance in Leeds (Kirkstall Road) on Friday so that they can have a look - does anyone know these guys or have suggestions of another reputable place in the north?
