special service clinic

I've just booked my car into the 'special service clinic' at Porsche Centre West London, Saturday 17th 1.30pm.
'An opportunity to discuss your Porsche with our technicians....'
And to walk away with a list as long as my arm of things to do probably! Oh dear! what have I done. Ignorance is bliss.
On the other hand it's free!
Anyone else attending?
See you there.

Phew! No dramas. Drove away with a spring in my step (so to speak) Car checked out well.
The tech. drove the car round the block and back, stuck it on some ramps and had a good look round.
There were no nasty surprises, just a few things most of which I was aware of such as,
Both rear and front discs are coming to the end of there lives and should be replaced in the very near future.
Same goes for the pas belt and alternator belt.
I have some rust on the bottom rear wings and below the doors slighlty on either side of the car where stones etc over the years have taken their toll. Not essential but best to keep in check before it gets worse.
There weren't any leaks and suggested a bit of wire brushing here and there and undersealing to keep on top of things.
The only other thing was to get checked was a patch weld which was done a couple of years ago to be on the safe side.
A few questions later of whats this sound why this and that?, all put my mind at rest.
The next step is that they will send me a quote for all the things suggested, that'll be interesting.
The other thing which did get thrown up was a recall for something. They didn't have the information but will get it in the next few days and will be covered under warranty. Anyone know anything about this? Maybe it has to be fitted with teardrops or cup alloys....for free...
Talking of alloys I asked about changing castors, the answer was not to bother, not needed. And no remarkable difference with sports exhausts other than sound.
If you get the oppotunity it is worth it, just to see under your car.
While mine was up on ramps another 944 owner popped his head in and said hello. So, if you are on here, I did look round for you to have a chat but I think you had gone as I couldn't see a 944 in the car park. So 'hello' anyway!
Apparently, there was slightly less takers than they thought but it had been going well and mostly 944s.
Start saving for work!! Does anyone want to put a bet on the quote cost for replacing discs and belts, body work to the nearest hundred quid?

Nice one, will be interested to hear what the recall was....

As for the brakes, you might see change out of £500 disks and pads.

Bodywork prob would be better done at a good independant.

Still haven't received the qoute from the service clinic I attended some time ago now. I did ring them over a week ago, said they had them all done and would be posting them out...
Anyone else got theirs yet?
I'm more interested that mine was subject to a recall, I could be driving a timebomb!!!!.[:(]
There again it may just be a plastic popper to replace.
