Specialist in the Essex area

Porschaholic

New member
Hi All,

As the new owner of a 987 Cayman, I was looking for a Porsche specialist near me for routine maintenance and repairs. I've narrowed it down to the following list. I wonder if anyone could advise if there's anyone on the list they would recommend, or perhaps to avoid.

Autostrasse (Colchester)
Chelmsford Carriage Company (Chelmsford)
Design 911 (Hutton)
MotorAid (Basildon)
Paul Stephans (Braintree)

I'm in Chelmsford, so any of these would be within a reasonable distance from me. Any help would be appreciated.

Sonny.

I have used at least one of your suggestions with mixed results, I'm near Benfleet and have been traveling to PIE Performance for the last few years and found them to be very good :)

Thanks for that pointer. Had not considered them. Just spoke to Chris there and he was very helpful.

There are, of course, a number of specialists in the Essex region but it’s easier when discussing the possibilities rather than on the forum.

As a member of PCGB, if you are in Chelmsford, you ought to come to the R11 Club Nights on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm at Chelmsford Golf Club to meet other owners in the area who use specialists. Contact either the RO Martyn Molyneaux or the ARO Martin Larcombe. Details are on the website or in Porsche Post.

Thanks Rodney. That makes a lot of sense. I was undecided about joining up, but I think you've just persuaded me to go for it! I'm not sure why it still says 'guest' beneath my avatar! I'll try to make it along to the R11 meet next Wednesday.

The R11 Club Night in November is on Wednesday 17th (not 10th) when there will be a presentation by Andy Prill of Prill Porsche Classics, based in Halstead.

Thanks - I'll be there.

Just realised; Is this the same Mogsmex as on Turbosports forum?

What Porsche have you been taking to PIE Performance?

I have a 987 Cayman and have used PIE Performance near Lavenham for last couple of years. Think they’re great. Look out for their coffee and cake mornings usually a fantastic range of cars turn up.
