Specilaists - mechanical & body

Have just recently bought my first Porsche (87 3.2. Carrera) and will need to get a service and some minor mechanical work done following the pre-purchase inspection. I live in Essex but relatively close to the Kent as well. Can anyone recommend a good specialist in my area??? Would be good to know of a body specialist with whom you may have had experience also - just in case!!

Steve

Given that nobody has replied to you, I will offer a recommendation for a body shop.

Try 911 Bodyshop in Wembley, ask for Chris on 020 8900 0572. Its a small independent specialist that does good work for the right price, concentrating on 911s of our vintage. Sorry its not closer to you.

Hi Steve,

I am based in Frinton, and I and others I know have always found Autostrasse, based in Coggeshall, Essex to be very good indeed. They are independant Porsche specialists and are both very knwoledgeable (obviosuly) and very approachable. They have been there years.

Contact them on 01376 562922.

With regards to any Body work related queries, I can reccommend Greenspeed (I think spelling is correct), who are based in Weeley, Essex. They did a fabulous, perfectionists job on my freinds Turbo 4 when he had the front re-painted for stone chips. They also refurbished the wheels and inner edges of the wheel arches - a trick job in itself!

Anyone know of a good body shop around Hampshire ?

I' m close to Reading so I guess I could use AFN. Any comments ??

I have used Specialised Paint based in Reading (on the way to Henley) - I spoke to Kelvin at AFN and he recommended them - very good.

Thanks. The other alternative was to try Chips Away as basically the body work is sound. I' ve heard some good things about them. Anyone had any experience ?
