Hi All - Merry Christmas!

Does anyone know the size of a speedline RS outer? 1.25, 1.50 or 1.75

Help appreciated!

Thanks

Julian

Hi
I will dig the info out for you,i used to run cup wheels on my rs.
Did you mention stainless outers,if so what make.Cargraphic made some. But not speedline.

If you can get the correct details, this place may be able to make some - never used them though.

thanks guys, Harry that is the people who I am using. They produce a 1.25 ot 1.75, just got to choose. If mine are 1.5 inch then I either need to go 6mm wider or 6 mm less!

Hi Silver
Sorry for slow reply, busy getting the racer ready for next season and hotels full etc!!
The info i have which is all ex factory,
cup rear rims/wheels 10Jx18 offset 61
rs rear 10jx18 offset 65mm
The cup rims fitted fine on my 993rs,with still room to clear, the issue can be tyre wall shape. The cup rims looked about 10mm wider on the outside part, but set in by around 4mm.I sold my cup rims to a register member who could measure them for you as well.
Hope this helps

Paul, I'll happily measure them but is this the wheel that Silver needs measuring ?

Also, the Cup wheel was a Magnesium centre ... but was the rim standard Speedline RS ?

Either way I also have the standard Speedlines, plus a set of Carrera 18" which are on with SO2's at the moment. Interestingly, these sometimes seem to "catch" slightly, -- but 'd need to take the car in to find out where ...

P.S. Also have the Fikse's with PS Cups on ... [;)]

Chris the bridgestone tire is one of the wider tires, they would catch on the cup wheels also, but very slightly.Alot of rs had there rear arches rolled for more clearnce,as per CS spec.
You will find the cup wheels have a different offset ,mainly because of the mag spider which has a thicker hub and flat solid spokes etc on the rear of the face,as mag not so strong as ali, unless beefed up as per cup wheels,gt2 wheels the same also being mag.

Hi Paul, it sounds like if I went 1.75 then they would rub unless arches were rolled. They can't make to spec only 1.25 or 1.75 inch depth, of course 40 holes and valve hole no problem. I suppose if the offset of the cup wheels is different 62 versus 65 I think then they were pushed out towards the arch too?

you 100% sure my friend?
Have confidence oh silver one, yes the outer rim width from (inside of outer lip ) to inside sealing face is 1.25 inches,
to increase the width to 1.75 inches may need arches rolled and you will have to replace your 265 tyres to 285, dont think there
will be an issue on the front clearances, I have enough clearance on the rear arches to accept a 1.75 outer rim however there
could be contact under extreme or track driving []

I thought the cup rears were the same size as the RS and it was only the fronts that were 1/2" wider at 8.5J, due to the extra 1/2" increase in the rim, as , mentioned at the stsrt.

You can get away with 285 on the rear, but you may need a track biased set up, surely the rear arches are already rolled?

I have run 285 on the back, even with 1 of the fronts off the ground through a turn, the rears never rubbed.

All the best for 2010 chaps! [:D]

Thanks Riviera, I have faith [;)]
?
Clubsport, I know the rear Cup offset is slightly different , thought the rear outer rim may be deeper too ?

The cup rear outer rim is deeper, the offset is smaller to compensate, still a 10 inch wheel.Cup fronts are 8.5.
Not all rs arches were rolled,i rolled mine myself, some companies have the proper kit that fits on the hub like porsche use to roll the arch.
285 SO2 bridgestone always rubbed on compression on the cup wheel
