SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER
Tonight my odometer and trip odometer stopped working.
The speedometer is still working.
Some time ago the speedometer stopped working but after a short time started to work again.
Has anyone else experienced this and/or have any tips to solve the problem?
MIRROR
My o/s mirror had stopped working and the specialist tell me that I need a new motor. There are 2 types and mine is the earlier one and apparently Porsche cannot supply one. I have also tried one of the largest spares businesses and they can only supply the later version.
Has anyone any ideas please? It occurs that the motor might well be the same as that on the SC (I had 2 of these). Does anyone know whether this would work? If it did I thought optimistically that I might have more luck tracing one for/from an old SC.
REAR LIGHT CLUSTER
I have been told that it is not possible to fit the rear fogs lamps which hang under the rear valance into a rear light cluster from the later model but I seem to recall an article with this modification/improvement and I certainly saw one at the Porsche meeting at Althorpe House a year ago.
How can this be done – what is the likely expense?!
Thank you.
T. M. Bailey.
P. S. Is anyone interested in Christphorus magazines I have several over the period 1982 - 1991, any offers considered.

Just had my 924S odometer+trip fixed on my speedo by Julian in South Harrow - Reap Automotive (google it) - he knows these inside out (literally).
Apparently the 911 speedo of your car’s vintage is virtually the same... your problem will probably be a metal (unusually for these) gear wheel moving on the shaft it’s supposed to be fixed to. Once taken apart and relocated, the odometer is restored to working condition... try him.

' Late 1986 M/Y Rear fog lamps '.
Straight forward job On either an SC or pre '86 Carrera.
You will however have to cut two rectangular holes in the rear panel to accept the bodies of the new fog lamps that are mounted within the later reflector unit. This later unit fits neatly where the original reflector sat. You will have to source the later rubber seal section that covers the slam panel and top side of the new reflector but otherwise, nothing more other than re wiring / routing the connections for the lamps.
Best try Ebay as usually a few are being listed.
hope this helps a little !
Nick.

Thanks for the replies and sorry to have taken so long - unfamiliar with forums!
Has anyone any info re the wing mirror electric motor?
Can I post this enquiry on the SC site - they may have the same unit as the early 3.2
