Speedo replacing and altering

Hi all

I have a LHD 911 SC (1983) that is fitted with a kph speedo - ideally I would like to swap this for mph speedo. I will be buying a used speedo that will obviously more than likely have a mileometer reading that wouldn' t match my equivalent.

I know this is a potentially controversial topic but does anyone know how to alter the mileometer reading so that I don' t have to keep adding or subtracting a number etc.

Cheers

Rich

Why not just dismantle the existing speedo and replace the dial with MPH but keep the odometer in KMPH? There are lots of companies selling replacement custom dials.

Hi.
I did my LHD 3.2 by getting an original MPH face from a company that sells and fits the after market faces. It is a bit fiddly to replace because the speedo is sealed.
You have to carefully open up the sealing ring from the back to get at the dail, and crimp it back down the same way.(be very careful removing the speedo needle because its fragile)Once its back in the dash it does not notice.
