Speedo & Rev counter stopped working

Hi,

Any thought on problem below would be a great help. My Speedo has not worked since changing the speed and reference sensors on the flywheel, i assume this may be due to sensor position not being correct but the car is starting / running great. Reason for sensor change was non starting. Today the rev counter has stopped working. Is there a connection between the two or separate problem?
 
The rev counter is not connected to the speedo. The rev counter gets its signal from a sensor connected to the gearbox. The wires run through the centre tunnel.
