Speedo

I was out this weekend and noticed the speedo stopped working (early square dash) what would cause this to happen
I do have a spare one but just don't have the time as I'm getting married two weeks today

Could be the drive cable itself, worth checking both ends are secured, and if so then see if it's rounded off (I'm assuming the end going in to the back of the speedo should be square?)

My bets are cable head in the bearing cap has come loose, lost its retaining circlip, or cap has come lose from hub. Without removing the wheel, pull out the centre cap and check, likely to need to remove the wheel cable has snapped inside the casing at its lowest point due to corrosion, will be about 12'' from nsf wheel hub. With the wheel off, pull the bearing cap with cable head and circlip still attached. If it comes away with 12'' of speedo cable than it snapped New cable, some cursing when removing the speedo from the binnacle and some scraped knuckles are very likely. But easy to do in an hour or so. Definately won't take two weeks so no need to delay the wedding [:)]

Iv managed to get out there between table plans, scatter beads and table decorations Took the steering wheel off took the cluster out unscrewed the cable and the squared of end moves freely So it's clearly something at the other end. I'll get out and have a proper look after the weekend Don't suppose anyone got a link to a repair guide. Iv look all over can't find anything.
