Spelling Mistake ?

It's no worse than when you overide the automatic settings on the air con and get manuell appear.
You get used to it. As long as it works, it adds character[;)]
He should lighten up a bit. If that is the biggest complaint, there's not much wrong.

First thing I noticed when I took delivery of the 987 in January - still its only a small error but after reading his article yesterday I had to laugh about it. Performance of the new boxster compensates for a little mis-spelling!!!

Funny really. Lets get this clear, it's a c**k up and if your lucky enough to have taken delivery of the car when new, you can be safe in the knowledge that you've just shelled the thick end of circa 40k and they can't get basic english right!!!! I think James May has a very valid point the spelling for everything else is perfect (save for the "manuell") . I guess if it was the spelling for airbag or something the americans would have sued someone by now[:D]

The CD player has always had the menu spelt in German (menue), see below from the CDR23 user manual; when the button 5 is described it is spelt right. I don't think it is an oversight, there must be some history behind it for it to have continued in all models or probably a Becker trademark...

I thought it was going to be another Cayman thread [;)]

I spotted the mistake when I first looked at the car, I thought it would be corrected when the full UK production was up and running......still waiting [:)]

it does annoy me a wee bit that I get manuell or somesuch german word when I take the aircon off auto. All the onboard computer options are in english, in fact I'm prety sure I can probably select a language on it too, so why doesn't that extend to the aircon system as well. It was all obviously overlooked, or someone decided that the cost of changing menue to menu or manuell to manual was not worth it, considering no-one is ever really going to complain seriously about it. It's a very minor point but a valid one nonetheless.
