Hi All,

Anyone fancy a black tie evening?

For the last 3 years Lynn and I have attended the Spirit of Africa Charity Ball, last year a group of R3 members went and had a fantastic evening. This year we would like to see if we can get an even larger contingent going to support this worthy charity.

Spirit of Africa is a locally run charity establishing foster care homes in South Africa, please see more information here.

This year the ball is at the Marriot Gosforth Park on 12th November.
It starts at 7pm with a sparkling drinks reception followed by a 3 course meal at 7.30pm. This is then followed by a raffle, an auction, and a disco. There are usually lovely African gifts to purchase at great prices too.

Dress code is Black Tie, so dust off those tux's gents and ladies this is a free pass to buy a new outfit!

The price is £39 per person, although if we book in tables of ten we could get a reduction to £37 per person.

The menu is attached. If you have any dietary requirements just say on your choice, eg gluten free, the hotel has said you can choose from the normal menu attached and just say it needs to be gluten free etc.
If you would like to stay there is a special rate of £85 per room. There are a limited number of rooms at this rate and they need to be booked six weeks before the event.

Booking details for the room are: Tel: 0800221222 and quote the 3 letter code C5A and mention Spirit of Africa

If you are able to let Lynn or I know the numbers of tickets required as soon as you can that would be great thanks.

Hope to have you along for the evening.

Chris & Lynn

Would have loved to join you, but unfortunately we'll be in Leeds that weekend for the twins birthday bash! We seem fated to always miss this one, next year we need to change the date of the birthdays or the black tie whichever is easier!

Yes, Karen and I would like to attend - all sounds a like a very good night, plus can't resist Bread and Butter pudding with Caramel sauce & Creme Chantilly ! Hope I can get my old suit to fit, dickie's fine though.

Hi All,

For those that are coming, if possible would you be able to bring the payment tonight (if you're coming to the club night) as I've just realised that I won't be at the October meeting.

I appreciate that it's short notice and you may not actually see this message, if so I'm sure we can work out another method later on.

Hopefully see you all tonight.

Thanks

Chris

Hi. Would you please book a place for Di and Jim for the ball, sounds great. We will be at the BBQ today and can pay for the tickets then. Cheers
