split spoiler blind

Pop up rear spoiler on my 1996 narrow body carrera has a problem. The black corrugated "blind" has completely split along the fold line which gets flexed each time the spoiler retracts. Anyone know how much they are at OPC or better still are they available cheaper elsewhere? Also, the small round "washers" which hold it on look as it they are a use once only item. Anyone out there replaced theirs? All advice gratefully received.

I did this just a few weeks ago (run a search for all details). the part is about £50 from an OPC with PCGB discount. It takes about fifteen minutes to change.

It basically "snap fits" into place. The only tools you need are a screwdriver, a rag and some Armorol or similar.

I did this a short while ago. There are no washers that need replacing. It's more fiddly than anything. Trying to clip the spoiler wall to the spoiler at the top is a real PITA, but it is doable, even with my beefy hands!

I changed mine a month back, using the method described at the bottom of the page on p-car. My one tip if you are doing this is to watch your paintwork as you pull out the blind, it chaffs the shoulder of the recess on the boot lid. Feeding a towel through under it as you pull the spoiler wall out will stop it.

thanks for the info - i have had a bit of time to investigate and i see what you guys mean by "clipping" off and on - no mechanical fasteners involved at all. Does anyone have the part no?
