Spoiler control failure

Morning,
Wondered if anybody could advise on a problem that appeared this morning, it's the first icy morning and when the spoiler went up I got a message saying "spoiler control failure" and the light comes on. The spoiler seems to be working perfectly. Is there something simple likely to cause this. Fingers crossed its just the cold:)
Thanks
Sean

If the spoiler motors up and down OK, then it will most likely be a stuck microswitch. There is a switch at each end of the travel which sense the up and down position. If one of them fives a false reading, the spoiler failure light comes on. I would wait for it to warm up and see if it goes away. If it is a faulty switch, it isn't an expensive fix. It is the hydraulics on the Turbo spoiler which are the expensive thing.

Excellent thanks Richard, I will wait and see if it goes away late:) If it doesn't does anybody have any instructions on how change the microswitch?
Cheers Sean

Drop me an email, and I'll attach them to a reply.

Hi All

My spoiler light still comes on after the spoiler rises and then remains on, the spoiler seems to go up and down as it should. I have now replaced the mircoswitches and still have the problem:-( Does anybody have any idea what is worth checking next?

Thanks
Sean
