Spoiler control indicator

It is a dual display LED that is wired to the instrument cluster and flashes while the spoiler is being deployed, and stays lit when the spoiler is up. It is only an indicator - not a switch. It fits into one of the blank spaces on the dash. A bit gimmicky if you ask me. You have a warning light on the instrument panel if your spoiler fails to go up when required.

Cheers Richard...

yes, of course, indicator not switch, that's how I meant to describe it, but instead I described it badly...doh!

Gimmicky, yep, I guess so, but I still quite like the idea...always attracted by flashing lights & such.

Anyhow, if nothing else, it replaces a dull blank switch with something a little more interesting, and it gives me that unnecessary reassurance that my spoiler is actually deploying (wish I could see it deploying, but of course from the interior of the car, especially the driver's seat, that's almost impossible...)

Just one more blank to replace.

Thanks.

This thing has also been on US ebay for a while. It is just $20 and a real switch will cost twice that, so I figured it was one of the dummy switch hole covers with a led indicator.

I'm not an electrical guy so I do not know where you hook it up to. I have asked the seller for instructions.

Maybe one of you UK guys should buy one and gve it a review. US Boxster owners are always asking how they can tell if the spoiler is up or down, so there may be a market. Jeff

Jeff

You have to splice connections to wires in the instrument cluster plugs. The cluster module controls the spoiler relays. I have a copy of the instructions, if you want them. Not easy to understand as their English isn't too good.
