Spoiler Failure error message

Spoiler went up automatically at 60(?) then when I slowed down I got a “spoiler failure” error. Stopped and had a look. The spoiler is only half way up or maybe down. Pressed and held every relevant button on PCM; didn’t make any difference. The spoiler also acts as an air brake if you are hard on the brakes when slowing down. I did this once, heard a dull clunk and thought that maybe the spoiler was now working. Stopped and had a look. Spoiler hadn’t moved at all. As soon as I got up to speed again I got the same error message. There is a trick of putting the car in Sport Plus mode and driving for around 30 seconds at high speed. It worked when I had a similar issue on my 991 but not this time even after several attempts.

Help!!

I had this within 10 minutes of driving my new Turbo S off the dealer's forecourt.

See my thread about this posted over a year ago:

I appreciate the spoilers are very different on the C2S to my Turbo S but both have control units which your dealer should be able to change. Mine was done under warranty, otherwise the part would have cost about £1700. I hope you get yours fixed because the warning messages and alarms are very annoying.

OPC have had a look and confirmed that the motor is the problem so they are going to replace it under warranty. I’ve been getting red warnings at 70 telling me to slow down

I have also had this issue on my 2023 Targa GTS the last couple of days. It ties in with reports of being more of an issue when it’s been raining/damp.

No warnings on the dash but the spoiler is stuck in the extended position and won’t retract even using the PCM.

Will try the suggestion of putting a little manual pressure on it while a helper presses the button tomorrow - otherwise the OPC will be getting a call!
