Spoiler fault - 992 GTS

Hi, I have a '22 GTS and have intermittent issues with the rear spoiler (not sure if it is also affecting the front spoiler as cannot see) - sometimes it stays up and sometimes does not rise, leading to different error messages. I waited two months for a service slot at Porsche Hatfield but the night before they called to tell me not to bring the car as they cannot repair it. Apparently it's a known issue and Porsche are trying to create a fix. They think it is linked to the materials inside the spoiler getting wet, but not an electronic fault. The fault is more common when it's raining, so I agree with the correlation here.

Does anyone else have this issue?
Thanks
Nick

Nick, sorry to hear of your problem. Can I just check something- I wasn’t aware the GTS has a moving front spoiler, I’d understood that was only on the turbo?

Hi Nigel, I don’t actually know about the front to be honest. I assumed it had a front spoiler as it’s shown to have one on the info graphic inside the car when you manually override the spoiler settings. But I guess it might just be the same software and not actually have the moving parts. I had a quick look online but can’t see either way.

If you have an active rear spoiler, you should also have a complimenting retractable front splitter.
To confirm, extend the spoiler manually (weather dry! [;)]) via the PCM when stationary, then take a look at the front splitter. [:D]
Regards,

Clive

The front splitter/spoiler on the 992 GTS is not active, 100% sure on this.

Only 992 Turbo and Turbo S have active front splitter/spoiler.

Does anyone know whether Porsche have a fix for the spoiler retraction problem? My 2023 car has this issue
although the OPC doesn’t recognise it as a known problem and the intermittent nature makes resolution
difficult

I had this within 10 minutes of driving my new Turbo S off the dealer's forecourt.

See my thread about this posted over a year ago:

I appreciate the spoilers are very different on the GTS to my Turbo S but both have control units which your dealer should be able to change. Mine was done under warranty, otherwise the part would have cost about £1700. I hope you get yours fixed because the warning messages and alarms are very annoying.
