Spoiler issue

Sounds like the motor gear. It's a common problem and if you check eBay there normally are kits for replacement drive gear for noisey rear spoiler they are cheap and worth a try. Failing that it could be the motor on the spoiler which are not cheap! Tim
 
I had this happen to me. The spoiler motor was ok but the spoiler gear was worn out and so the motor was going but the spoiler wasn't going up. This is the bit I replaced. I got it from the OPC. It was about £20 or something.

Your esteemed knowledge of help required. Noticed yesterday that there was a whirring noise from the behind, thought it was the sunroof motor but no.

Then realised when the spoiler warning light came on something is up....

The Spoiler is not raising however I believe tries to with the motor noise. When I try manually it does make the same noise but no movement....

Micro switches, motor....what could the matter be
