Spoiler light on dash but it works?

Hi, I have the spoiler warning light on the dash but I can operate the spoiler using the button in the fuse box. Any common causes? Thanks

To be honest I don't know. I'll get someone to ride in the back tomorrow and look out of the back for me.

The handbook says:
'The warning light in the instrument panel lights for a lamp check when ignition is switched on'

So perhaps it's normal? It stays on until the car is moving, long after all the other lights go out. That was what worried me.

If it is raising and lowering depending on speed, is there a sensor to detect when it is down that is faulty?

Mine stays on after engine starts and after other warning lights go out. At some point it goes out after I've driven off - never timed it. If it stays on, then check it deploys without manual override and guess it would be sensor or problem with circuit - not checked but check technical section on this forum.

Sounds like normal behaviour to me. As long as it goes out at about walking pace, and doesn't come on when driving, then you don't have a problem.

Yes. There are microswitches to sense the top and bottom of the spoiler travel, and the warning light will come on if the spoiler hasn't gone up at speed.
