Spoiler or no spoiler

While the car is having some body work done I am toying with the idea of removing the rear spoiler to get the clean look. Anyone done and this and can comment on high speed stability? I use mainly on the road with the odd track day.

Do you need to remove the front spoiler as well?

Will obviously keep spoiler to return to original.

Any comments welcome.

Have removed mine front still on no noticeable difference whatsoever up to quite high speed not entirely sure about the look but do it you can always change back

Easily put back Paul and I sell the grill on ebay? I am wobbling either way, originality vs retro look....still, car off road for most of the summer so plenty of time to decide!

Porsche recommended the front and rear spoilers should only be fitted in combination, and Paul Frere did an article about it in, I think, Flat 6

This was certainly the policy on the Speedsters.

I agree with previous comment. Plenty of evidence back in the day to suggest both must be fitted together, especially if driving her as Porsche intended ! Or, remove both together but as you say, you do have some time on your side.

I believe the sport version had the option of a rear spoiler delete meaning Porsche was OK with just the front spoiler...

No spoiler best look .... Although beware lack of rear downforce once you are over 125MPH which is surely very rare.

I have whale tail & duck but can't see past this, I love the clean lines. I have the front chin spoiler fitted and haven't noticed any poor handling, then again I don't usually drive around at 120mph!

Yes not usual here on the roads, but Track Days or indeed Autobahns for those Euro Hoons might be an eye opener[;)]

Beware the back does get twitchy without the rear wing having experienced most air cooled over the last 40 years.

Recall the rear active spoiler failing to lift on a 964 now that was a weird moment .....[&:]

Appreciate the varied views, plenty of debate which is healthy!

In two minds at the moment so will let you know which way I go in due course.
