After problems 3 years ago necessitating the pump and lines replacement at the cost of more than my old VW Golf, I had to replace the microswitches not long after. All was well until the leaky rams this year which both cost more than the Golf is worth, again. Microswitches were also replaced on this occasion.
I thought this was the end of the problems until this week! It started with the spoiler not rising twice at 75 mph but worked normally with the switch. Now it wouldn't rise at all. I had to read my original spoiler thread in the Technical section to do some fault finding. Using the PIWIS 2 the fault recorded is the generic 9150 code. Fuse D7 is fine. The microswitches are fine using a continuity meter to confirm the bottom switch is NO (normally open) and the top NC (normally closed). I put power at the pump terminals and it rises and retracts fine. Using the multimeter to test for power at the feed to the pump and it reads 12.65V when I press the switch so there is power going to the pump. Now this is the bit that is baffling me and i wonder if it is the relay - when i connect the feed to the pump and press the button, it only reads 165mV. I've done this a few times and there is 12.65V with the feed disconnected from the pump but basically no power when i connect it to the pump. The relays are a bit of a pain to get to in my car as it has the Bose subwoofer at the rear. Any advice is appreciated.
