spoiler stuck in UP position gloom.

Any ideas why my spoiler is stuck in the up position? The switch makes no difference... driving fast and slowing down does nothing (trying to mend my spoiler your honour).
Wouldn't be too bothered except it ruins the lines of the car when parked and makes me look like a posing git in traffic.
Also a bit of a clicky noise from the ashtray area? Relay sounding. Any connection?

Not an uncommon occurance. I found on mine that the little microswitch under the plastice cover under the spoiler had stuck. Sprayed a bit of wd40 on it and pressed it a few times and all returned to normal. May be the same on yours? There used to be a section on here somewhere with a more detailed description of such varied little quirks and problems, but I can't find them any more.

Had the same problem with the microswitches myself

I had a similar problem recently. Easily fixed by opening the black box that holds the spoiler microswitch. A small leaf fell out and the spoiler has worked fine ever since!

thanks all. I'm almost too excited now. Could this actually be a solution which won't require 20 hours' overtime to fund?
I'll let you know.
thanks again.
