Personally, I like the look when added to in my example the Sports Chassis option.

In general I think they do enhance the appearance, so succeed from an aesthetic perspective, although some aftermarket things are more max power.
However, they also add weight, cost a fortune, and the skirts and front spoilers are more prone to damage (especially if you lower the car as well). Big wings at the back are more a matter of taste - it depends whether you like the standard simple lines.
My approach though is that if the manufacturer didn't think I needed it, then why bother.
Form is supposed to follow function on a Porsche.
