Sport Chrono Display

I just wondered if anybody had any knowledge of the differences between the sport chrono lap timer on the 997 and 991. I'd read somewhere that the new 991 has the ability when not in use for lap timing, that the analogue display actually acts as a normal clock. This is something I would find very useful, does anyone know if this is a software upgrade change and/or a hardware change and if so, any ideas/suggestions on supply and fit costs and if it's even possible!

it can be retro fitted to the mk1 but requires a hole to be cut in to the top of the dash for the cables so is a one way modification. Rennslist has an article on fitting by the DYI er. It needs to be programmed in to PCM so you either need PIWIS or Durametric lead. I have seen the chrono clocks on eBay for around £250.
