We have again been invited to the Sports and Classic Car Weekend at Sledmere House, near Driffield on Sunday 5th July. The event is organised by the East Yorkshire Group of the MG Owners Club and the North Humberside Motor Club.

The show includes an autotest, concours and pride of ownership competitions. I understand that entry to the show is free and they are trying to encourage owners of all classic sports cars, not only MGs but also TVRs, Triumphs etc. to attend this year.
[FONT=verdana, geneva"]Club members who attended last year really enjoyed it and the organisers are keen to have a Porsche presence again.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
Dedicated Porsche parking will be arranged but we will need to know numbers so if you are planning to go please post here before 1st July.

Thanks.

Planning to go as it's just up the road from me, however we have a lot going on that weekend so I am not sure of I will be able to escape!!

Just got back from Sledmere. Pretty good turn out with 11 Porsches attending - some usual suspects and some new faces. If anyone has any photos please post.

Special mention to the hero from Hartlepool who "popped down " to see us in his immaculate 911T.

NHMC made us very welcome as usual and have invited anyone interested on their Classic Car Run - Sunday July 26th starting Walkington - finishing Seaton Ross - 85 miles of Tulip and "other " instructions. Supposed to be for cars over 25 years old however they will stretch a point for Porsches and include all air cooled ( so up to and including 993 ) and any watercooled up to the end of the air cooled era so essentially 912 /914/924/944/968. ( if I've missed anything please advise ).

They run excellent events ( I've done a few of them ) and there is a limit on running places - it's same day as Silverstone Classic, however if you want to avoid sitting on the A43 for a couple of hours each way then this may be for you. If anyone is interested please mail me direct or put a notification on this thread.

Anyway thanks for turning up today - hope you all enjoyed it.

Andrew W.

Sounds like you had a good day, Andrew.

If anyone has any photos (and a few words if you're brave enough!) I'd appreciate them for Porsche Post.

Thanks.

Great day Andrew, but we very nearly didnt make it[&:] The rain was so heavy on the A64 that Lisa suggested that we call at the Designer Outlet instead and I very nearly did just that! However as we were only 20 miles or so away from Sledmere I decided to soldier on and I am so glad we did. When we were 10 miles or so away from the venue, the rain stopped, the clouds disappeared and a beautiful sun made a welcome show for the rest of the afternoon. It got so hot that I can feel the sunburn as I type....[8D]

Excellent day and we were made very welcome by the MG crowd, who certainly appear to be closet Porscheofiles from the amount of attention our cars got [:D]

Got to get the car ready for Blenheim now....bloody rain!!!!
