I missed out on Donington "in-field" [] so will be going to Newby Hall.
I'm planning to leave Sunderland around 08.45am / 09.00am , intending to be at Newby by 10.00am 'ish.
If you have a location in mind on the A19 I'd be happy to call by on the way down.
cheers

I arrived early (10.00am) to be met with a single track queue at least one mile long (new entrance gate apparently) with two other roads also trying to join. I didn't get to the ticket check gate until 11.20am! after multiple stop/start hot engine episodes.
I wasn't asked for my ticket and my request as to where I should park was met with "shrugged shoulders".
In trying to determine the cause of the delay, someone who was ahead of me in the queue advised that they had vendors trying to sell stuff at the gate causing cars to block the entry. Once in and parked I couldn't find any of the organising team.
Will I be going back next year?...........answers on a postcard please to SCITP organisers....
There has previously been negative feedback about this event and for the last couple of years the ROs have asked at the monthly meeting whether people wish to go as a club and the answer has always been a resounding no.
Probably one of the reasons why this thread has been so quiet.

Anyway, that aside we met some lovely folks and saw some great cars and were it not for the excessively loud 'music' near the picnic area, which was one of the no-nos from the organisers, we had a very agreeable lunch. Just think though, it could have been worse. It could have been raining and the combination of mud and sheep poo would have really iced the cake, so to speak.
