Sports exhaust wanted

Can anyone give me some tips on a good sports exhaust to go for my 1998 996 C2 Cab.
I was looking maybe to replace the whole thing and include some stainless steel headers I have seen on ebay- anyone know if theese are any good??
Also I heard a trip is to fit a by pass pipe on standard exhaust and you turn it into a sprots exhaust?? how true can that be- again any info would be usefull
