Sports exhaust

Has anyone got any experience of Maxflo exhausts (advertised on design911) I'm after a nice sounding exhaust without any resonance problems (fitted a Dansk to my Boxster S and it resonated awful at 2-3000 rpm) Also does anyone know how to get my status changed from non member to member. Thanks

So you haven't seen one of Mark Bennett's posts yet? [&:][:D]
If it says "Non Member" by your name, you need to confirm your Membership Number and Forum Name to Club HQ (email cluboffice@porscheclubgb.com ) This should be a one-time fix, and will also allow you access to the member-only areas of the Forum

I had a fabspeed Maxflow on my 993. I sold the exhaust because it was a bit too noisy for my 2 yr old daughter who wouldn't go near the car until it was taken off!

To be fair, it sounded lovely, and was excellent quality. It did resonate a bit in the low-mid range on light throttle, but had a lovely rumble under full throttle.

The RSR exhausts seem to be the exhaust of choice for 993s and are cheap too- see www.carnewal.com or p-car for info.

Apols for cross-post, but there is a link to a video in the first post of this thread which is of an RSR equipped car vs the thread author's own creation.

Many thanks for the reply - have been considering the RSRs too. Got a 24k service next week so might discuss it with the boys as strasse then

Supercups! I have the early ones with a removable baffle which reduced the noise to a more acceptable, but still aggressive level. When you take them out it could wake the dead! Not everyone's cup of tea, but i love 'em!
Hopefully this link will work. I recorded my Supercups with the baffles in place....

RSR are very good but still don't unleash the engine sound. I am wondering exactly how different is a 993 to a 964 in exhaust terms or this a very short blind alley?

RSR's are not to far away to a cat bypass on a 964 but you only get the full effect if your not driving.
Muffler bypasses are into the CAT and Cup pipe noise levels

Crwys, I'm interested to know exactly what you did with your exhausts, I've tried cat by pass pipes and found them far too noisey and seemed to loose low down torque. When you said you cut the backs open, do you mean the oppersite end to where the pipes branch from. I've a spare set and want to experiment but don't want too much noise as I do track days and it upsets the neigbours!!

cheers David

Does anybody know of a Sports Exhaust fit for a C2?

I have the RSR's. Much better than standard, look oem of course, relatively cheap (Carnewal in Belgium do it) and not boomy. But if you want really loud and rspy these may not be for you.

Before the RSR's I had Dansk and they were quiet, RSR's much better.
