Reason to put price of insurance up and annoy neigbours only

or

Reason to put a smile on drivers face while pressing the loud pedal?

Not sure which of two cars to buy one has it other has sports crono (And two tone black and grey/blue leather)

Thoughts anyone?

The neigbours dont like you the first day you drove your motor in if they are like mine get the pipe to make sure

In the end i went for a completely different one that had all the options i wanted and more but no sports exhaust.

In reply to DavidCross: I think the sports exhaust sounds louder than standard even when turned off IMHO.

It doesn't give any extra power (acording to OPC) and badly effects insurance quote so i think i went the right way (Well for me anyway)

so whats really the point in the button to switch off the sports exhaust if it makes no difference to the noise?? I have to concede that £1700 is lots of cash for no more performance but it does sound spectacular!!!!!!!!

Oh the button does do something - its gets even louder but what i meant was that even in quiet mode its louder than standard (i think)

It does sound great but what also worried me was if i would get tired of it on the motorway (mines a daily drive car)...... Anyway acedemic now as i opted for a different one :)

Ooops - sorry been on holiday (running it in ;-) )

I bought a new Boxster S in Meteor Grey with Full leather, Carerra Classic 19" wheels, Bose etc etc

Couldn't resist as i got an extremely competitive trade in price for my old S (£5500 over book - it also needed four tyres, front disks and brake pads, a major service, Tax and Warranty over next month or so - well...... managed to convince mrs i was almost saving money changing now ;) anyway...... )

I guess Porsche really want to clear out before new production for the new one but i ain't complaining.........

why does the sports exhaust make a difference to insurance quote if theres no difference in power output??

When I told my insurance company that I had a sports exhaust fitted, they said it doesn't make any difference to my insurance.

For Directline it is classed as a modified exhaust 0 to 10 Additional BHP. They have a list of all of the options available and a couple of them (Sports Exhaust and 19" Wheels) add extra money to the quote the rest don't. Poss not the same with all insurers but Directline are rock bottom priced for my circumstanses by a long way.
