Sports Exhaust

I have a 2000 model Boxster 986, 2.7, manual. Can anyone tell me if there is a sports exhaust for this model, to give it a more throaty sound? Thanks

PSE if you can find a second hand one for sale.

Otherwise many have opted for the Carnewal mod, which apparently sounds the same.

The Carnewal mod suggested above is an excellent option. The sound is superb and retains the otherwise OEM exhaust. Good value too. I have this on my 987.

Revolution Porsche in Yorkshire also offer a similar mod to the stock exhaust for the 986.

This is a modification we have been offering our customers for a while. We weld stainless steel bypass pipes, in the 'carnwal' way. It is different to the PSE modification, but effective. We have played with different pipe sizes to get a good overall sound.

Our price is £299 and we try to offer a drive in/out service. This does rely on us having a unit ready made to swap with yours.

Lee,

Is this something that can be done on the 987 or just the 986?

Cheers,

Col

I have this on my 986. Two bypass pipes after the CAT's, straight into the tail pipes. Gorgeous sound.

I've got the full Carnewal system (987 Boxster S), 200 cell headers and back box, sounds epic. Lovely mechanical rumble on tick over and then an epic wale as the revs climb. No droning on the motorway either, just the lovely sound of the flat 6.

Have a look on youtube and search for Carnewal.
