after taking the old girl out last night through a tunnel i may reconsider changing my 84mm ss muffler.... sometimes we forget who good they sound...your twin outlet one must sound mega

Ye it does sound great especially when you put your foot down in it, yet its not to bad on normall driving. I have had genuine porsche end welded on to

Thanks unfortunately it is going back to the bodyshop again in a few weeks to be resprayed as its had a reaction and started peeling in places. Pleased with the way it now looks though but there is the possibility i may have to put it up for sale due to using the money to go into business. As much as i dont want to sell it if it means i can make lots of money then i can buy a reall turbo in the near future! Also fitting my new momo steering wheel this weekend.

The bumpers and side skirts are from pro-9 birmingham, they are a strosek style kit but the rear is an RS copy. Wheels are Techart performance 18's. All chrome work was removed and updated with black trims. Lots and lots of hard work done all conversion done by myself except for final prep and paint. Interior retrimmed also by myself with custom speaker installs to the door panels.
Anyone interested in discussion information or more photo's etc please feel free to contact me at wblackw9@ford.com Love talking to people who share the same interests in Porsches. Did try to get to Ragley Hall but unfortunately i couldnt make it in the end. Sounds like i didnt miss much tho.

Won one of these at the start of the week;

Fitted it today, sounds fantastic, nice and deep on tickover and when you hit 3000rpm the roar is awesome, looks good too.

Not sure what you mean by resonance, it doesn't rasp if you know what I mean, it burbles on tickover and stays very bassey all the way up the rev range and on the over run theres some deep popping but not in a bad way it really does sound magic, its kinda difficult to describe I suppose.

Price was good too, they seem to stick one one every couple of weeks for £1 starting price with no reserve, got mine for £127 [:D], magic!!

Theres one on there now;

Hi Phil, I'm running mine with a Dansk pre silencer although its straight through, no baffles, will change it over the winter for a stainless item to go with the sports muffler. My heatexchangers are standard galvanised items to keep down cost as you will know SSI's are lovely but very expensive and I heard that the power gains are no more than around 5-10hp, not sure wether its worth the cash, would you notice 10hp!!:rolleyes: A sports muffler and pre silencer can supposedly get similar results, mine goes really well, just pulls and pulls, not sure it really feels any more powerful but it sounds it [:D] and the muffler is a good few kilos lighter than the original which has gotta be good.

Cheers

I agree i have heard numerous comments on heat exchangers giving more horse power and most of the time they say they dont but if its for the long run then they will clearly last longer. i only have standard steel ones on mine but with my exhaust it sounds awsome. I saw them exhausts on ebay they are a great deal i even contacted them about making mine but went with a more local company in the end. Mine is a Dansk just with modified end pipes to suit my rear bumper. Exhaust looks awsome on yours now!!

yes thats the one i was on about they do a racing one as well but can be a bit loud
is that just a single strap holding the muffler?

Hi Jamie, yes just the one strap, the second strap would have to go around the pipes and could pull at them as its tightened. I've had a metalwork mate of mine make a new strap in polished stainless so it matches the muffler, the strap is a little wider than the standard ones, I'm quite happy it wont move at all plus the new exhaust is half the weight of the original [:)]

Cheers

I put this on for several hours only a couple of summers ago a sports muffler bypass on the back of a sports presilencer ( just a str8 through pipe really)i may have mentioned a few moons ago but the sound was obscene..... scaring dogs, rattling windows, car alarms going off worrying sheep and children...... and that was just idleing at the lights..... i did take it off and its now in my shed for £50 if anyone wants it

not really for use on the road..... unless you have ear plugs
