sports suspension

Earlier in the year I thought I might change my 996 for a targa or a convertible, on the off chance that the sun comes out this summer. But having discovered that doing a like-for-like (i.e. same year/mileage/spec) swap with a dealer would cost me in the region of £4k, it seemed a bit daft.

So, time to call in Plan B (and I don't mean the pop band).

Consequently I've just booked my car in with Andy at ProMax, so he can fit new suspension all round. I've plumped for the Porsche Tequipment stuff as it's just such good value right now. A little stiffer (but not track-day only harsh) and lowered by 10mm - so should be perfect for my usual country road driving.

By the time its all supplied and fitted, along with some other bits and bobs such as new top mounts and lower control arms, the bill will probably be around the £2K mark. Given that the car will visually sit that little bit lower, handle that little bit better, and possibly feel that little bit faster (and certainly be quieter as it will rid me of the current odd front suspensions squeak/groan) it should be money well spent. He says, desperately trying to justify it to himself...

I did it myself yes go for it . you want to look at design911 kit for 1200 (fully adjustable) as the porsche sports suspension does not include the top mounts (170 each) which design 911 kit does so price wise it is close
