Hi Guys

I went to a small car show in Uppingham today mainly because I know one of the organisers, and was very pleasantly surprised to see this -

There was a nice variety of vehicles, but this Silver Ghost was amazing -

I know it was up for auction last year with a guide of £350- 400K, it is a most impressive machine!

More pics if you're interested - here.

I did speak to the owners, who said it gets a good blast as regularly as possible!

Didn't get his name though - thanks!

He was at Calastre, and between Steve and his son, it was the fastest car there (they are both pretty handy with a wheel). It a modified lightweight, but was done a long time ago. Its got some really interesting bits on it, Ali front wings, some interesting suspension and a few other neat tweeks. And its very, very pretty isn't.

A very together car.

Nice car!

Ali front wings?

Serioulsy, I have never seen those available, I would think they would be a liability compared to original steel or glass fibre/kevlar if you needed added lightness?

Do you have to drive around with a 3/4 full tank the whole time to balance the handling?

Melv - indeed, pardon my haste. Very, pretty isnt it!

Ali front wings maybe lightness in the wrong place, certainly didnt seem to affect the handling - it went, very well, and turned in nicely. A slight increase in rear bias is probably less of an impact than the added weight I would guess. And thats if either are perceptable to mere mortals like us.

Any idea who makes these front wings?

Surely Porsche would have used them on Cups, RS or RSR, with some form of homologation and if they are after market, why would you bother with the expense, where kevlar/composite would be cheaper, perhaps lighter and most lightly less hassle?

Me an Thomas Schmizzle is in kahoots. If you want Aliwings den I can get you best deal. Email me an I sort it all for yu!

Odabo,
Ali

P.S. It seem I's gonna bit street?
