Spring bank holiday weekend ?

Hi everyone, I am a member of R6 and will be taking my Motor Home and 996 Turbo up to Whitby, Runswick bay, for the week, commencing 26th May.

Just wondered if there was any local activity or meets etc over the bank holiday weekend ??

Just got back from holiday. As far as I know, and unfortunately for you, there is nothing on this bank holiday weekend. It's a pity you're not up in a fortnight's time, when the Yorkshire Region will be having their 'haddock run' to Whitby.

PS If you like walking, try the 'Cleveland Way' coastal path from Runswick Bay to Whitby, then either walk or get the bus back (or vice versa).

You must still be suffering from jet-lag or something. The Spring Bank Holiday is at the end of May, you are thinking about May Day on the 7th. [:)]
Still he will miss the Haddock Run though., but could go to the Magpie Cafe by themselves.

Thanks for the recommendation. We tend to walk the other way into Staithes and have a few beers then up the huge hill walking back!

Fred's right. Jet lag it must be.
Again, I'm not aware of anything organised Posche-wise local to the Whitby area.
With respect to walking in the Whitby area, probably the nicest walk of all is the Cleveland Way section from Whitby to Robin Hood's Bay (where you can also have a good drink, alcoholic or otherwise). Absolutely magnificent. It's only about 6.5 miles from the abbey. If you don't want to walk back, there's an hourly bus service back for RHB to Whitby for ~ £3.00 per person. If you want to walk back but are in a rush, the direct route is the old disused railway track, but the coastal path is by far the best.

Shame I couldn't get a few members together for a run out into Heartbeat country either Sunday, Monday of bank holiday! ?????????? I am sure we can find some quiet roads, perhaps a picnic by the ford on the backroad running parallel to the main Pickering whitby road. Sorry can't remember the number??
