Spring Car Show at Duxford Imperial War Museum

Hi Patrick. I am thinking of attending the Spring Car Show at Duxford Imperial War Museum on Sunday 3rd May 2009. What are your thoughts? We could attend and meet as a region display? You could perhaps speak to the regional organiser for that area and decide upon a joint effort? During the day the museum will be open.
Whether the region attends or not I will be going and will take a picknic.

Regards

Hi Robin and Patrick , i was planning on doing Duxford as well, it would be good to catch up there . Phil Red 924S

I was wondering about doing this one from R 7. Great venue and lots to look at though a bit of a hike.

Will watch thread to see if you set up a convoy.

****UPDATE****

Spoken with Duxford event co-ordinator. Tickets are ÂŁ9 each instead of ÂŁ16!
This allows access everywhere including air museum.
Travelling from the north on the M11 exit at the roundabout and instead of turning off towards the main entrance carryon and enter by Gate 1.

I am in the process of speaking with the Essex Region to see whether we can squeeze in with them?

Watch this space for the next exiting update!!!!!!!

****UPDATE****

I have spoken to Greg Thompson ARO Region 11 who is co-ordinating the Porsche display. Greg has asked for numbers about one week prior to the event.

I will wait until a couple of weeks before attending to see how many of you have expressed an interest and then let him know.
Last year about 60 cars attended.

Gates open at 0930hrs

Thanks Richard. I will check their website. I take it you will be with that group in your silver Porsche? If so, looking forward to seeing you and Jane on the day.

Regards

Robin

Sorry for the late reply to this but I have had broadband problems. Can'tbeat two tins and a piece of string! Anyway this event has Region support and if enough people contact me will have a meeting point and run to the event. Hope the weather is good enough for a Picnic Robin.

Thanks for those who have replied and shown interest. Up to now, those attending:

Phil Carr 924S
Robin Hainsworth 993 Targa
Gresley 993 C2
Richard Davies 993 Targa
GaryW 997TT

About one week prior to the event I shall email Greg Thompson. Essex Region.

We should fit nicely alongside their region group display.

Robin

Sorry - her indoors has booked a weekend in North Wakes so cannot be there.

Have a good run.

Super news, I was just reading John Simms post saying that the site was fully booked and wondered if I had a spot...
See everyone for 10am then, got my picnic ready too [:)]
