Spring replacement

One of my suspension springs (front driver side) snapped and needs replacing.
Its covererd under extended warranty however the OPC say that the passenger side needs
replacing as it would unbalance the ride(probably needs doing anyway). The good spring is
not covered by the warranty and the OPC are charging over £300 inc fitting for the passenger side.

Does this sound reasonable or are they taking the P**S.

Any views most appreciated.

I think the warranty provider (Porsche or other?) is taking the p!ss! They shouldn't just be paying out for what is effectively half a repair on a safety related issue.

I note that according to the Porsche workshop manual, springs are only sold in pairs. So if the warranty company wants to replace just one they have bought a pair. I am with you on this one springs/shocks MUST always be replaced as a pair!!!

It's a basic safety issue, the warranty needs to pay the costs of all that is needed to fix the fault. It's a bit like them saying only one of your engine cylinders was scored so you will have to pay for the other 5 when they need to replace whole engine. Don't let them get away with it.

Thanks for the reply's. I agree with you Mark that they should be both replaced under warranty as a
Safety issue. The opc won't budge and feel that there will be a Mexican standoff. I feel like I don't have
Enough leverage. And on a separate note the rms needs doing again. [&o]
