Had a good play in the Spyder today and can report back as follows:-

Roof: It is better engineered than I first thought and with practice and "care" it can probably be put up or down in 2/3 minutes on your own

How wind proof it will be in use is yet to be discovered but salesman told me its 100% rain friendly when up and there is no disclaimer to sign unlike the 89 Speedsters

Rear plastic window was pretty rippled though and once you have secured the main sun cap section, hooked and tensioned it down the rain and wind rear/side protection piece needs to be fitted by securing it to some side slots immediately behind the side windows rear edge, rear side section has a plastic tube affair that is just a push fit to main rear of sun cap frame, pop 5 poppers across the back of the rear screen section and its all now securely in place[&o] Not as complicated as it sounds reading all this back to myself [:D]

You can get your hand in between roof and door windows but a would be thief could so easily just slash or rip his way through anyway so don't think the lack of total security will be an issue bearing in mind this car is really set to jet topless mode 24/7[8D]

Salesman reckons its a longer job to "neatly" stow the 2 roof sections than it is to fit or remove them in the first place!

Just parked up with a red & a silver Spyder in the M40 services near Silverstone (they're on the experience centres current fleet). Look very nice indeed, roof didn't look overly complictaed and apparently takes little time to set up, Also like the added body styling and the engine note sounds meaty. It's got a cayman S lump in it, I always thought the boxster & cayman had the same engine?Must admit if I was looking for a new boxster I would defo consider one, very pretty looking car

Any digi's of the silver one available:)

Afraid not, but in the flesh the red looked the nicer of the 2.....they had porsche script down the sides as well, which was a nice touch. Standard 5 bolt wheels, but if you could spec the center lockers off the GT3 they would be a nice touch. Just watched those vids, I think I need to work harder get a white one for the wife to match my GT3. I've always loved boxsters and these do look the business
