Square dash boot seal

Hairyarse

Looks like I may need a new boot seal on my square dash. Looking around, Porscheshop do OE for about £69 and non-genuine one for £33. Anyone know if the cheaper one is any good?

Also, Design911 do one for £50. Anyone know if this is OE or not?

Cheers
Andy

easy for me to say cos I'm not forking out for one but I'd be tempted to go for original spec on the hatche seal. Any leaks and you're gonna be in a world of woe[;)]

Are you sure it's the seal and not the glass having come away from the frame? I thought mine was the seal but then found out it was the latter - not an expensive fix to do properly, but a time-consuming one for sure....

Its not leaking, it's just the seal looks a little flat and old that's all, Rob spotted it, thought it might be as well to replace it

Cheers

Well, after shopping around I bought from Porsche shop as they had the best price for a non-Porsche item. Quality looks spot on and I ordered online Sunday night and it arrived this morning so no complaints.

It won't get fitted until the weekend but so far, first experience of PS is spot on for me ;)

Let us know how you got on as my replacement seal is still in it's packet as I can't get a screw out - it's rusted into the spoiler []

Fitted the boot seal today. Well happy with it, you can see the difference old to new, but then the original one has been squished for 28 years!!

Dead easy to fit, very quick job and whilst I panicked when fitting as it didn't look long enough there must have been a good 10 inches surplus so no worries about that

Thumbs up for Porsche Shop for me then [;)]
