I know this has been addressed somewhere on the forums, however i wasn't sure its this part that squeaks.

If it is this bit how do i remove it to see how it attaches and if i can stop it squeaking?

I would be surprised if it were the rear panel. It is secured through clips which if loose would provide a vibrating noise as opposed to a squeak.
You can remove it by putting your fingers between the panel and the carpet. You have to give it a good pull. The savannah leather fits directly onto a sturdy plastic moulded panel. It is not attached with any screws.
Im wondering whether its the rear window seal.
Good luck

Ok cheers, ive already put some of that foam cord stuff from one of the technical bulitins in. However i might put in a second layer as it didnt completly fill the gap.

Sorry to resurect an old thread but ive finally got round to taking it off! There appears tobe a brass clip missing from the passenger side of the window. Does anybody know the part number for it as i think thats what was casuing the noise.

Item 3 is shown as a cable clamp, quantity 3, part number 999 651 307 02.

You can download a PDF of the part list by clicking this link: http://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf/originalparts/en/E_996_KATALOG.pdf
