Squeaky rear suspension

The roads around Ballymena are just terrible! My 968 sounds like a door opening in a horror movie, CREAK! CREAK! creak! but is fine on the open road - or maybe I just can't hear it!
Rear suspension, nearside! Independent torsion rear suspension (I think!), possibly bearings??? The car's been pretty much laid up over the winter - maybe a good dose of WD40 would solve the problem???

Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?

Peter - in Ballymena

Gosh! The silence in the N. Ireland forum is nearly louder than the creak in my suspension!

Hi Peter I was just waiting to hear everyone elses suggestions! 968s are not prone to squeaky suspension but quite common to rattles / tool kit/tailgate/rear shocks. Can you give some more detail please.

Hello George. Great to hear from you!
As noted in my opening posting, the 'creak' comes from the rear left of the car and is definitely suspension! Pushing down on the rear left causes the creak, which honestly sounds like a door in a horror movie, and of course the speed ramps and poor road surfaces in the area really make the car sound like something from circa Model T !
The 968 forum has thrown up a few suggestions, but, to date, I haven't had time to have a look - not that I would know what to look for anyway!
Perhaps I could arrange to meet with you for some sort of analysis - either after college some afternoon or at your house.
I'll give you a buzz!
Best regards,
Peter
