There is a small sticky mess situated just behnid the rear wheel on the drivers side. I found it first after halloween and thought some local lads had thrown something.
It is sticky and clear(ish) and does not have a strong smell, but I'm thinking its originating from the car.
There was a sort of spatter effect on the ground and some bits near the wheel.
Its this gearbox oil? The car has also starte heating up a bit quicker now.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Kev.
ps. To make matters worse, I reversed into the wifes car today too. No damage (to mine).

Hard to think what this might be. Sticky and clear with no smell you say? Are you sure it's from the car because i can't think of any fluids in the car that would match that description. You might have driven through something and it's splashed up. I think the quick heating thing is coincidence.

It's a good theory.
It does smell a small bit (not strong), but the small is certainly like something leaking from the car.
The spatter is a bit all over the place back there under everything.
I also think that if it was spatter then I'ld expect the front wheel to have caused the same effect under the front tyre but no joy.
What lubricants are based back in that direction?
I was reading the manual and all I can see is the gearbox oil, but this was very much the same as tree sap in feel.
Not like any oil I've seen.

Its not some spillage dripping from the offside rear boot well is it? Maybe something you have stored in there...

Hmmmm, Damn good point there.
When I got the car originally there was all sorted of stuff in there. I tried to patch it up but perhaps some canister of something or another has exploded.
I'll check that when I get home.
Of course the missus will want me to paint he fence when I have a spare minute and the fact that the car is bleeding is of no interest to her.
Especially as I clobbered her car yesterday too.
Admiring a paint job on the fron tof the house and forgot to move her car and straight out the back of the house and into her car.
Kev.
