If you're still unsure, NW region is visiting Ninemeister in February if you can wait that long. The details are in your regional newletters and Porsche Post.
I read about it last night and it could be all sorts; battery, speed sensor, a hiccup in the ecu and drive it for a few miles.
Even if the car is fixed, I would still like to attend the meet in February

If these devices have failed I would think the lights would be on permanently.
If what you are saying is true, these are ABS and PSM FAILURE lights I'm pretty sure that the manual will tell you to contact your PC as soon as possible.
The easiest way to check the ABS though is to find a private/quiet road with no following traffic and apply the brakes until the wheels lock, if the wheels lock the ABS isn't working, if the brakes chatter the ABS is working. Old school test.
If you want to test the PSM park the car in a big puddle in a large unused car park, turn the steering wheel to full lock and apply some acceleration. []
Obviously use your own judgement when considering these tests.
I guess this is a 'friendly' forum with comments as "read the fucking manual" is acceptable. Ever heard of the saying, if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say it at all?
Anyways, problem is solved. After 10mins of driving, the lights flickered off, on then stayed off. Thinking that it was a hiccup.
This is a friendly forum. Acronyms like RTFM are a bit of a longstanding in joke and if you knew Melv, you would know that absolutely no offence was intended. IF you haven't been already, pop along to a R5 meeting, there are some great people in the region - Stuart (Mr968) is on the organising committee and will ensure you are made most welcome.
I'm glad your Cayman seems to have fixed itself.
There are a number of highly reputable specialists in the North West. Whilst I'm not particularly familiar with any in St Helens itself there is Mike at Sports & Classic in Knutsford, Ninemeiseter in Warrington, Simon at 9Apart in Ramsbottom, Brian at Jasmine in Colne. Obviously Porsche Centres Wilmslow, Chester and Bolton are not so far. Barry at Hartech in Bolton also enjoys a strong reputation.
