Stainless Exhaust Systems

I've just bought my pride and joy, a 01 S in Seal Grey, and am considering fitting a stainless steel exhaust, probably just from the cat back. Has anyone fitted a custom made system, or have any tips/advice on either genuine Porsche or ready made systems? Not overly interested in power increases, but it must retain or improve on the stock system's noise.

I have fitted 2 bespoke systems to previous cars and on my last 986 I fitted an off the shelf Roock. The bespoke systems suffered boom at around the 2400-3000rpm area, which was very tiresome at times, and a common problem with these mods. Below and above car sounded awesome though [;)] if a bit too TVR like.

I then tried a Roock Sports Exhaust from J Z Machtech and it was perfect, no boom, no loss of power unlike the bespoke systems, and my only gripe was it could have been a bit louder. It gave the car a nice modern sounding Ferrari 355 like scream and the higher the revs the sharper the screammmmmmmmmmmmmmm [8D]

I am now waiting for several options for my current 987 which doesn't need a sound change as much as the 986 did.

I would like to keep the current sound track but just have the volume increased a bit more. Car sounds amazing exactly as it is with roof up but with top down, which is my chosen method, a lot of the glorious soundtrack gets lost [&o]

A lotta money [:D] compared to the bespokes but on the other hand they didn't do the trick so maybe it wasn't as much as it felt like at the time :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Back to your question £1053 (incl of VAT and after a 5% discount)

[&o] Carl I was able to sell it on after I sold my 986 back to an OPC who didn't want the system on the car. It had only done about 6000 miles and was as new still and I got £600 back plus several phone callers after it.

So all in all not as bad as it sounds :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Couldn't resist that pun

Hi, I fitted a Janspeed stainless steel back box to my 2.5 Boxster, no annoying booms just a deeper more sporty sound around town at light throttle, near standard noise levels at 60+ MPH.

I had one 911 Turbo 2 owner tell me it was the best sounding Boxster he had ever heard !!

Cost £ 405 money well spent !!

Reckon I'm going to make a cheeky xmas pressie request to my better half. Gives me time to think about a respray for my front PU, a new placcy rear windscreen, new rear tyres, etc etc etc .... []

Anyone had any experience with a Dansk (Spelling?) system before.

That's the one Specialist cars recommend I go for?

Was that the single or twin box system?

I had Janspeed make me a custom system, (not their standard system) Also fitted a set of high flow cats...absolutely gorgeous howl above 3.5k rpm and it growls at low speed. Best £1k I've spent on any car.

Sounds tasty, Jackie!

But, like a lot of others with standard exhausts, I am dead worried about too much annoying noise.

Maybe the only way is to try members modded cars at PCGB events, if anyone will let me?
