stalling S2

Odd one this, on 944S2, car starts perfectly from hot or cold but when I start it from hot it stalls, sometimes a slight misfire occurs, sounds like plugs are flooded but clears straight away. As journey continues the problem goes away and engine ticks over perfectly. Any ideas?

Sounds like the cold start is active when hot, and then switch's off after a short time, might just be a drop of WD on the switch linkage,

I assume the car runs well, apart from an over rich mixture on start up . Having said the above it might be some thing different.

This is interesting as I've owned a S2 Cabrio since 2001 and have a similar problem. If you say, drive the car for 10/15 minutes and stop and then have say another 5 minute journey and stop again, once you start the car up it runs lumpy, with haphazard revs and sometimes will cut out. Usually reversing from a car parking space to my embarrassment! Once you are down the road, the problem seems to have gone. The problem is more apparent is summer than it is in winter.

My car has always been service by OPC or an Porsche independent, but my local independent has tried to cure this for nearly 8 years, but we can't get to the bottom of it! It could be something simple, but I'm hoping it isn't something serious...

This specific probelm sounds like your idle control valve is sticking. I had this, and squirted some carb cleaner up it, which helped for a week or two, but the symptoms have returned. I'll be taking it off and having a proper go at it soon.
